ClickUp Pricing 2026: What Changed and What It Means

· Guest: Alex Rizea, Head of Delivery, ZenPilot

Key Takeaways

  • A new automation action, Remove from List, takes a task out of one of its extra Lists. Alex's use case: clear a task out of a client portal List once the client approves it.
  • Automations can now create Lists from templates, but only in a fixed Space or Folder. For client work, an integration or the ClickUp API is still the more powerful route.
  • ClickUp's AI add-on used to be all or nothing: every user in the Workspace, or no one. AI is now built into every plan. If you were already paying for AI, you're getting a discount. If you never wanted it, you're paying a little more.
  • There's now a daily limit on MCP calls, and it depends on your plan. If your team works in ClickUp from Claude or ChatGPT through MCP, check your limit.
  • At renewal: you'll probably get the new plan right away at your current price, then pay the normal list price at your next renewal unless you talk to ClickUp's sales team. On Business Plus or Enterprise, talk to your account executive.
  • Gray's take on pricing: you can negotiate a discount, but getting that much more productivity out of a well-trained team is way, way easier, with kind of unlimited upside.

Episode Summary

ClickUp's new plans have been in the works for months, and they're now starting to hit existing accounts. In episode 26, Gray is joined by Alex Rizea, Head of Delivery at ZenPilot, to cover four updates from this past week before spending most of the episode on ClickUp's new pricing.

Alex walks through what changed: Unlimited is now Core, AI is built into every plan instead of sold as an add-on, and there's a new Max plan with almost all of ClickUp's limits taken off. They cover new things to check before you renew, like a daily limit on MCP calls, and what actually happens to your price at renewal. Gray also explains why getting more out of a well-trained team matters more than any discount, and how buying ClickUp through ZenPilot works now that we're an authorized ClickUp reseller.

What We'll Cover

The episode opens with what’s new in ClickUp. Remove from List finally gives automations a way to take a task back out of one of its extra Lists, so a client portal List can clear itself once work is approved. Automations can also create Lists from templates now, with a catch Alex calls out: the new List has to land in a fixed Space or Folder, so it can’t follow the client the trigger came from. Brain² can now read your Workload and tell you who’s booked and who can take more work, and time off now shows up in Workload and counts against each person’s availability. If you’re planning capacity in ClickUp, our Workload guide covers the setup behind it.

Then Alex walks Gray through ClickUp’s new plans. Unlimited is now Core, there’s a new Max plan with almost all the limits taken off, and AI is built into every plan instead of sold as an add-on. That last change matters most day to day. The old add-on was all or nothing, so teams that only wanted AI for a few people either paid for everyone or went without. Now everyone has it: teams already paying for AI come out ahead, and teams that never wanted it pay a little more. They also cover the newer details to check before you renew - a daily limit on MCP calls, Talk to Text now included, and AI governance for setting AI credits by person (coming soon) - and some features and integrations moving between plans, so check ClickUp’s pricing page for what changes on yours. If you’re rolling AI out to your team, our complete ClickUp AI guide is a good next read.

The episode closes on renewal and value. If you renew in March, you’ll probably get the new plan now at your current price and pay list price at your next renewal, unless you talk to ClickUp’s sales team first. Gray’s view: a negotiated discount is a real win, but getting that much more productivity out of a well-trained team is way, way easier, with kind of unlimited upside. And if you’d rather have a person on your side for the renewal conversation, ZenPilot is now an authorized ClickUp reseller. Buy ClickUp through ZenPilot and we’ll help you figure out the plan you actually need.
